While I was looking for skin brushes, I stumbled upon many amazing Procreate Makeup Brushes (free and premium).

I love creating lists, so this time I decided to gather a list entirely dedicated to brushes that will help you paint makeup in your portraits.

The brush sets are created specifically for Procreate; they won’t work in other graphic software. The text “View brushes” under images is linked directly to the brushes’ pages, so if you want to read more pieces of information about the set, or reach out to the author (or see their other brushes), just click on the text.

Before you dive into the list, I want to mention that in the descriptions, I also try to provide a few pieces of information about the brushes’ authors. Many of them created these sets for their own illustrations. So, therefore, I placed links to their websites and Instagram pages, where you can check out their awesome artworks (some of the artists even provide tutorials and tips on how to paint in Procreate).

1. Shimmer Set by Sadie Lew

This pack was created by Sadie Lew, a Mexican-American illustrator with a BFA in Art. I came across her digital brushes earlier, while gathering a list of the Pencil brushes for Procreate. I’m super excited that I stumbled upon her brush sets again, this time I found a set that will be helpful for creating makeup!

The Shimmer Set features 19 custom brushes with a variety of glitters & foils. This brush set now only will be useful for painting makeup details, but also for painting nails and jewelry.
Personally, I find it to be one of the best packs dedicated to glitters. Sadie did a great job at providing us a variety of them – not just in size and thickness, but actual different textures: “glitter”, “sequins” “glitter flecks”, “confetti”, “bokeh”, “ribbon”, “foil” and even “scratched gold”. In addition to this, Sadie also included in the pack a Procreate color palette that features metallic colors ideal for the brushes.

2. Portrait and Makeup brushes by CrystalProBrushes

“Portrait and Makeup brushes” is a huge pack of 1760 brushes, combined from separate sets, created by Gordeeva (she’s the owner of the Etsy shop “CrystalProBrushes”).

This is one of the biggest packs I found, it contains various brushes dedicated generally for painting portraits:  hair, glitter, gloss, lips, skin (pore, freckles), eye iris, lashes, nose, brows, structure, blending, and many more brushes and stamps.

If you are also looking for brushes that will help you to paint not only just makeup – but also the hair and eye details, you should check out this pack. However, if you don’t need everything, You can find all brushes in separate packs on Gordeeva Etsy’s shop: CrystalProBrushes

3. Easy makeup brush set by Julia Razumova

Julia Razumova aka “Bluesssatan” provides us with 24 brushes (textures, strokes, smudge, stamps, hightlights, shadows). They definitely speed up the painting process.
If you are looking mainly for “glitter” makeup brushes, you will find here various glitter sizes and shapes (I love the one with the star glitters).

If you are looking for eye makeup shadows and eyeliners, you should check out the 15 MAKEUP BRUSHES by Nastya Frim.
It has a 15 simple, but very effective brushes for painting eye makeup. Eyeliner brushes have various shapes, some are subtle, but there are also ones that are perfect for painting the stage makeup. In addition to eyeliner and shadow brushes, Natalia included also 2 glitter brushes!

5. Cartoon ish Make Up Brush Set Procreate

“Cartoon ish Make Up Brush” is a perfect set for artists with (what I like to call in general) – comic art styles. Usually, when painting in those styles, you don’t need to add tons of details or textures to create mesmerizing paintings – as we can notice by looking at Alicja’s illustrations.

So, this set in comparison to others may seem to have quite simple brushes, but it will surely enhance your portraits and is basically all you need.

6. Easy MakeUp Brushes for Procreate by Sundrameda

Sundrameda created 3 brush sets that I mention in this list.

I’ve already mentioned her brushes in my previous lists about Hair brush sets for Procreate. I stumbled upon her creations again while searching for makeup brushes – and this time I found 3 separate sets that I decided to include here.

The first set listed here contains general brushes – you will find here brows, eyeliners, lashes, glitters, and eye reflection brushes. These brushes are gathered from different packs – two of those full sets are listed below.

What really attracted my attention in this set are the “reflection” brushes, that we can use while painting eyes. I especially like the “glare 2” brush, where you can see the reflection of eylashes.

Here’s the second set of Sundrameda”s brushes listed in this article. This pack is dedicated to eyeliners. You will find here eyeliner brushes of various shapes, thicknesses, and additional ornaments.
So if you are looking specifically for eye makeup brushes, this is the set that you should check out.

And here’s the 3rd and the last set that was created by Sundrameda that I decided to mention in the list.

This pack is entirely dedicated to lashes stamps- upper and bottom lashes. The stamps differ in thickness and length of the lashes. So, some are much thicker than others, but still, look quite realistic.

Floortje, known as “Art with Flo” is another artist whose brush sets I already mentioned in other lists. The resources and video tutorials she creates are just perfect for anyone who wants to start their journey with painting in Procreate! But before I start pointing out sites where you can find Flo and her art, let’s focus on the brush set first.

The set contains 18 brushes. You will find here amazing brushes for painting natural makeup – in my subjective opinion, it’s the best brush set if you want to paint “subtle” makeups, I love how (as I mentioned earlier) natural they look. The set contains eyebrows hair (*not brow stamps as in other sets), lashes (again, just a brush for painting them, not stamps of lashes), eyeshadows, blender and the shiny-gloss-glitter-higlighters brushes.

I’m aware that part of the reason why I find these brushes amazing is because of Flo’s skill at painting. She’s able to take full advantage of them, and that’s why I recommend you to check out her Youtube channel to learn more about painting in Procreate: youtube.com/artwithflo

10. 15 Easy Makeup Brushes by Karina Yodanova

The “15 Makeup Brushes for Procreate” was created by Karina Yordanova, a Bulgarian artist and children’s book illustrator. She provides us with 15 stamp brushes that will help you to easily create a makeup in few seconds.

The pack focuses on eye makeup, so you will find here lashes, shadows, and eyeliners. Karina created also other packs that you may find useful, such as the lip gloss brush set.

11. Glossy Makeup by Heymaryjean

Here are perfect brushes for painting lips details! The pack was created by Heymaryjean (Marzia Palomba).
The pack includes 18 brushes : blending brush, 7 makeup brushes, 2 light flares and 8 gloss stamps for lips.

They are great for adding glitters and shiny texture. In addition to the pack, you will also get an installation guide.

12. Sparkle Up Brushset by Heymaryjean

Here’s another pack created by Heymaryjean – “Sparkle up”, entirely dedicated to glitters.

There are 25 brushes that can be used to add details to eye makeup and highlighters.  You‘ll find here different glitter particles, textures, and shiny elements. What I like about these brushes are the different shapes (stars, hearts, moon, rhombus etc.) in some brushes, and sun rays.

Heymaryjeans suggests setting your layer to ‘add’ , ‘color dodge’ or ‘overlay’ in order to achieve the best results.

13. Brow’s Chic Brushset for Procreate by Heymaryjean

Okay, that’s the last pack created by Heymaryjean that I have to mention in this list.
Brows are an important part of appearance, and here’s a brush set that’s entirely dedicated to brow stamps.

You will find here 3 individual brushes for painting brows, as well as 9 ready brow stamps. Some are thin and subtle, others quite thick and wide.

14. MarMirArt Makeup Brushes

Margarita Miroshnichenko aka MarMirArt created 38 brushes for easy makeup.
If I had to summarize this set in one word, I would say: “glitters”. So as you can deduce, Margarita focused mostly on creating shiny brushes. You will find here lots of various glitters in different sizes and shapes – for example, rhombus or oval diamonds and crystals.

Margarita created also other brush sets, which you can check out on her Artstation page: MarMirArt – you will find there her online shop and her art portfolio.

15. Taozipie’s Lash & Makeup [FREE]

I’ve been looking also for some free brushes, and stumbled upon Taozipie’s creation. She has an amazing collection of brushes (free and premium), + she also provides tutorials on how to paint some things in Procreate (mostly related to painting portraits).

The “Taozipie’s Lash & Makeup” contains 21 lashes stamps (upper and bottom). This (and some of the other sets) is free to download, but Gumroad gives us an option to donate. So if you download Taozipie’s brushes and find them useful, please send her a donation as a thank you and to show her your support!

Here’s a set of brushes created by a ProcreateFolio forum’s user  – PaulhousbeyArt. The topic where the set was posted can be found here: “Free Makeup Brushes By Me“. I linked directly the URL that was provided by PaulhousbeyArt, but please read the forum topic to see if there are any updates/new links provided to the set before downloading.

As you can see, the set includes 6 detailed stamp brushes. It’s small in comparison to other sets, but it’s free to download! 🙂

17. Eye Brushes for Procreate by Disyukov [FREE]

Here’s a set that isn’t precisely a “makeup” set, but those eye pupils brushes look soo cool and will be definitely a great help, so I decided to include it as an addition.

The set was created by Disyukov, an artist whom I also mentioned in a few other articles. It includes 12 free brushes of eye pupil, iris, and reflections stamps. It’s a sample set, so if you like it, you can get a full set of 28 brushes here: “Eye Brushes“.
